Many of us have lost or had to leave a loved home for various reasons. This piece is a practice in the mobility of home. We often think of the structure when thinking of home, but what we miss is what the house held. To leave one’s home isn’t always a choice, but what we choose to take says a lot about what we hold dear.

What makes a house a home? What brings in the warmth that we associate with home? What is your hearth? 

Participants are invited to take one of the house templates available and recreate their own depictions of “home”. Using the available materials, they will decorate one side of the template (which will be the internal of the house). Following the provided guide for assembly, participants will then transform their flat template into their own version of “i built a home just for us” for them to take with them.
